Arlington SDA Church in Texas US is planning to ordain a female pastor on the 29th of August this year, choosing the long walk away from clear Biblical teachings, church guidelines and a long history of the world church.
The Bible and Church guidelines have for clearly defined the role of women in church leadership positions and pastoral duties have never been one of them. This discussion has taken place in the church for far too long with some people strongly pushing for a change to allow women to be ordained as pastors. (1 Timothy 2:11-15; 1 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Peter 3:1—7; Titus 1:5-9).
The world church has voted thrice on this proposal, voting NO at all times choosing to stick to the biblical teachings that are way too clear over this. But the urge for the SDA church to look like ‘other’ churches and practice what these other churches practice seems to be too much for Arlington SDA.

The church is planning to ordain Deirdre Solomon as a pastor. Her LinkedIn profile shows she is an assistant pastor at the church.
As “Youth” Pastor, my desire is to create an effective youth, children’s, and young adult ministry at the Arlington Seventh-Day Adventist Church so that youth and young families in the community will feel welcomed and accepted there. I coordinate programs and events such as Revamped (1/mo youth church), Vacation Bible School, Bible studies, and game nights geared for children and youth to fulfill this mission. I also preach, teach, and lead out in Pathfinders and weekly Sabbath Schools. Most of all, I value the one-on-one interactions and connections with kids and youth that I get to form in this capacity.
