Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
When someone wants to keep you away from accomplishing the task before you, he’ll only distract you so that you become less focus and defeated.
What do you think Satan won’t do to prevent you from getting to heaven. He would do anything possible to keep you distracted so that you’ll lose heaven.
What’s the history behind sports? Why was it brought up and for what purpose? Knowing this would help us understand the truth behind it.
History of sports.
First of all just ask yourself this question: Is Jesus in sports? We will answer later.
Sports was used in the antiquity as a distraction. It was brought in so people will not think about the problems of the society. How stunning!
Ranging from gladiators to other kind of “so called entertainment” in Rome were all used to distract the people from responsibility and important matters.
Inspiration says God has nothing to do in sports. The prince of this world brought it up to hold his prey captive.
The answer to the earlier question is that Jesus is not in sports. You can find Jesus only in prayers and Bible study.
Little by little, sports has become a gargantuan force that’s enslaving billions.
Study shows there are about 3.5 billion soccer fans around the world.
In all more than 4.5 billion people around the world are slaves to sports(Soccer, NFL, Basketball etc).
The Spirit of competition is not of God but of Satan. Satan is very excited to see Christians idolizing sports. The Bible says love not the world.
Would Jesus get the so much attention given to sports everyday? Everyday over a million people spent their money and time on sports while leaving their spiritual life unattended to. Today there are so many enslaved that they have lost all their belongings through betting.
These distractions are also owned by members of secret societies. As a matter of fact owned by the devil himself to achieve his purpose.
As Christians we should be vigilant and hold unto prayer. We should not go with the world’s current but walk separate ways. The narrow path is not easy unlike the broad way.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Whom are we serving? God or the world? It is not just bearing the name “Christian” but living like Jesus Christ you profess to follow.
Just like in the ancient times, sports is still used today as distraction.
This article is to let you know the truth because the truth sets us free. The final decision is in your hands.
Someone might be asking “I idolized it for a very long time and how can i break this yoke?”
The answer is simple: “Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Jesus will take away your burden. He did it for me and he’ll do it for you only if you’re willing.
I pray you see this truth and break the yoke of bondage.
“Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
“1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
We are on the very verge of the time of trouble, and perplexities that are scarcely dreamed of are before us. A power from beneath is leading men to war against Heaven. Human beings have confederated with satanic agencies to make void the law of God. The inhabitants of the world are fast becoming as the inhabitants of the world in Noah’s day, who were swept away by the Flood, and as the inhabitants of Sodom, who were consumed by fire from heaven. The powers of Satan are at work to keep minds diverted from eternal realities. The enemy has arranged matters to suit his own purposes. Worldly business, sports, the fashions of the day—these things occupy the minds of men and women. Amusements and unprofitable reading spoil the judgment. In the broad road that leads to eternal ruin there walks a long procession. The world, filled with violence, reveling, and drunkenness, is converting the church. The law of God, the divine standard of righteousness, is declared to be of no effect.52 CCh 64.3
The amusements and expenditures of means for self-pleasing, which lead on step by step to self-glorifying, and the educating in these games for pleasure, produce a love and passion for such things that is not favorable to the perfection of Christian character. 2SM 322.1
I could refer to chapter after chapter of the Old Testament Scriptures that contain great encouragement. These Scriptures are a treasure house of precious pearls, and all need them. How much time is spent by intelligent human beings in horse racing, cricket matches, and ball playing! But will indulgence in these sports give men a desire to know truth and righteousness? Will it keep God in their thoughts? Will it lead them to inquire, How is it with my soul? CT 456.1
All the powers of Satan are set in operation to hold the attention to frivolous amusements, and he is gaining his object. He is interposing his devisings between God and the soul. He will manufacture diversions to keep men from thinking about God. The world, filled with sport and pleasure loving, is always thirsting for some new interest; but how little time and thought are given to the Creator of the heavens and the earth!CT 456.2
God calls upon men to see Him in the wonders of the heavens. “Lift up your eyes on high,” He says, “and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might,” Isaiah 40:26. God would have us study the works of infinity, and from this study learn to love and reverence and obey Him. The heavens and the earth with their treasures are to teach the lessons of God’s love and care and power. CT 456.3
God calls upon His creatures to turn their attention from the confusion and perplexity around them and admire His handiwork. As we study His works, angels from heaven will be by our side to enlighten our minds and guard them from Satan’s deceptions. As you look at the wonderful things that God’s hand has made, let your proud, foolish heart feel its dependence and inferiority. How terrible it is when the acknowledgment of God is not made when it should be made! How sad to humble oneself when it is too late! CT 457.1
The psalmist declares, “When Thou saidst, Seek ye My face; my heart said unto Thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.” Psalm 27:8. The whole of this psalm should find a place in the reading and spelling lessons of the school. The twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, and seventy-eighth psalms tell of the rich blessings bestowed by God upon His people and of their poor returns for all His benefits. The eighty-first psalm explains why Israel was scattered—they forgot God, as the churches in our land are forgetting Him today. Consider also the eighty-ninth, ninetieth, ninety-first, ninety-second, and ninety-third psalms. CT 457.2
These things were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come; and should they not be studied in our schools? The word of God contains instructive lessons, given in reproof, in warning, in encouragement, and in rich promises. Would not such food as this be meat in due season to the youth? CT 457.3
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
